CANADIAN INDUSTRY ONLINE - FEBRUARY/MARCH 2014
I ’M AN ENTREPRENEUR ,
that’s how I’m wired,” Doug
Friesen, President and Founder of TAK
Logistics told CIO in a recent inter-
view.
TAK, a company providing di-
versified logistics services in Canada,
has been operating since 2006—but
the company has more to show for its
years than many of its competi-
tors who have been in the
logistics game longer.
SERVICES
TAK Lo-
gistics, which
found its name
as an acronym
of Friesen’s chil-
dren, provides
intermodal rail
drayage to the CP
and CN Rail ramps
in Vancouver, BC,
and Edmonton, Alberta.
These services are provided
by a team with passion for its business.
The company, says Friesen, was “30
years in the making,” because Friesen
saw an opportunity after many years
in the logistics industry and simply
needed the right opportunity to make
the company come to life. It was in
2006
that TAK opened its first logistics
warehouse.
The company is used to tackling
important customer demands, and
provides the best service and perfor-
mance for freight and special require-
ment deliveries.
TAK also provides warehouse
and trans-load/cross-dock services.
The company is able to manage cus-
tomer inventory so that customers
can watch costs for their logistics
needs. TAK boasts an on-
line web-based inven-
tory management
system so that cus-
tomers have “in-
ventory inquiry
accessibility and
online order
placement, 24
hours a day, 7
days a week.”
The company’s fa-
cilities are equipped
for bulk storage and
TAK handles every-
thing from food products
to industrial products—and the
TAK staff are prepared to handle prod-
ucts properly and safely. The company
says: “Our accuracy and efficiency
has assisted many long term clients in
reducing their distribution costs and
improving their effectiveness to sup-
ply their products to market.”
When it comes to logistics, TAK
has a large network of partnerships
We
need to be a
nimble and realistic
company. We can’t be dis-
tracted by unimportant
details, we need to focus
on the client.”
