Acden’s 21,000 square foot, eco-friendly light and heavy duty fleet facility is located at
220
Taiganova Crescent. Through the utilization of many environmentally friendly fea-
tures including solar paneling, a water reuse system and natural sunlight, the company
decreases its impact on the environment and increase staff productivity and wellbeing.
With over 35 experienced employees, two 125-foot commercial wash bays, and over
$500,000 in inventory, the company can confidently meet all clients’ fleet requirements.
Machining and Fabrication
Previously operating as ACE Industrial Services Ltd. and Lemax Machine & Welding Inc.,
Acden has over 30 years of experience in Fort McMurray, not to mention the largest and
most established machine shop in Northern Alberta. The company delivers a wide range
of solutions for the oil sands industry with the capabilities to engineer, fabricate and
install projects of all sizes.
Acden’s Machining and Fabrication services are provided in conjunction with partner Em-
pire Industries Ltd., one of the largest companies in Western Canada providing steel solu-
tions for complex and large-scale structural projects.
DuPont™ Kevlar® Wristlets and Gloves
Acden is the only producer of Kevlar® industrial knitwear in Western Canada. Twenty
times stronger than steel, these industrial protectors are made of 100% Kevlar® – a
synthetic fiber that is fire retardant as well as slash and puncture resistant.
Wholly- owned by Acden, these manufacturing services previously operated as Chip Manu-
facturing. During the 1990s, the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and Suncor Energy
Inc. developed a working relationship and together began plans to establish a manufac-
turing facility in the community of Fort Chipewyan, Alberta.
Today, the company provides a viable economic opportunity for the community members
of Fort Chipewyan and has grown to employ 15 full-time employees.
