STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS BEGINS
Student Entrepreneur to be named
National Champion with $10,000 cash
prize!
TORONTO, ON (October 1, 2013)

If
you run a business and are attending
a Canadian university or college full
time, or you know someone who is,
now is the time to submit your nomi-
nation for the National Student Entre-
preneur Competition.
Since 1997,  Enactus Canada and the
John Dobson Foundation have present-
ed the National Student Entrepreneur
Competition as a platform for young
business leaders to network with like-
minded students, showcase their busi-
ness to top executives and leading en-
trepreneurs, and accelerate the growth
of their business. 
This is an incredible opportunity
for student entrepreneurs to gain ex-
posure for their businesses and we
strongly encourage all student entre-
preneurs to come forward and apply,”
explains Nicole Almond, President of
Enactus Canada.  “Entrepreneurs are
the foundation of this country and
Enactus Canada is pleased to celebrate
and support the entrepreneurial spirit
through this competition.”

Friday, November 22, 2013.  The com-
petition is open to full-time students at
Canadian universities or colleges who
are running their own businesses.
Further Information:
Twelve provincial champions will be
named in January 2014, earning the
right to represent their province at one
of three regional competitions held in
Calgary, Halifax and Toronto. Regional
champions will then move on to the
final round of competition taking place
at the Enactus Canada National Expo-
sition, April 28-30, 2014 in Calgary.
The national champion receives a
$10,000 cash prize and moves on to
represent Canada at the 2014 Global
Student Entrepreneur Awards, oper-
ated by Entrepreneurs’ Organization
(
EO).
To be eligible for the award, students
and their businesses must meet the fol-
lowing criteria:

Be a full-time undergraduate
and/or graduate student at a Cana-
dian university or college for the 2013-
2014
academic year
·         
Be a founder and have at least
50
per cent ownership of the company
and be responsible for its operation
·         
Have been in business for at least
the past six months
·         
Have not competed in the final
round of the National Student Entre-
preneur Competition in the past
